French cuisine is undeniably simple yet totally delectable. The creation of famous food delicacies is a big part of the French history.  On the other hand, fresh vegetables and herbs are the key ingredients for cooking a good French meal. If you are in the process of creating your own French vegetable garden, consider incorporating these vegetables listed below.

This vegetable is well renowned for its long life span. It can live up to 15 years when properly taken care of. A French style asparagus is white or purple. It grows the same as other regular asparagus but produces stunning contrasting colors.

As most gardens all over the world include cucumbers, it is also popular among French vegetable gardens. Cucumbers are usually found in French cultural dishes. To grow it, you need to have a rich, fertile soil which allows the plant to produce quicker.

Although chard is normally known as Swiss chard, it is actually a staple in most French cuisines. Raw chards are normally added to French salads as a substitute for spinach.

This is commonly used as a spice in place of onions. It gives a more delicate flavor to every French meal. Leeks are usually grown in damp and rich, fertile soil.

Keeping your garden in shape is not as easy as ABC. It definitely takes some time and effort to let these plants produce good products. You may also invest in some useful gardening tools such as a high quality ride-on lawn mower, rakes, spades, and wheel barrows. When using a lawnmower, collect the grass and leaves from it to serve as mulch for your vegetables.

In France, eating BBQ is a way for families to get a long and spend time together. Just like how patriotic Americans are in terms of eating barbecues; this meal is also quite popular in French cuisine. However, French style barbecues are not the same as traditional American or British recipes. To give you a rough idea, here are some of the staple French BBQ ingredients and how it is cooked the French way.

Côte de boeuf

This beef rib steak is quite expensive and mostly served during holidays and special occasions in France. To season a Côte de boeuf, you will only need some salt, pepper, and oregano. It can be cooked by frying or grilling in the oven, but it is best when cooked in a excellent barbecue smoker.

Lamb Brochettes

In France, lamb brochette is quite a popular barbecue dish. It is quick and easy to prepare. You may grill it on a stove or a barbecue smoker. To marinate the meat, have a large mixing bowl and combine these ingredients: balsamic vinegar, 2 teaspoons of olive oil, minced garlic, black pepper powder and some rosemary leaves. Once the meat is well marinated for a couple of hours, skew the meat into sticks and grill.

Merguez is a long, thin red sausage that tastes pretty similar to a chorizo. However, chorizo is mainly pork meat while Merguez is made from beef or lamb. Proper seasoning is what makes Merguez one of the best tasting sausages in the market. Paprika, fennel and other spices such as cumin, coriander and Moroccan harissa are the staple ingredients in seasoning Merguez.

There you have it – Those are some of the ever so famous French barbecue cuisine that you need to try before you die. France is well known for its well-known native delicacies, and the barbecue game is never the last thing on the list.
